The NURBS++ package

Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) curves and surface are parametric functions which can represent any type of curves or surfaces. This C++ library hides the basic mathematics of NURBS. This allows the user to focus on the more challenging parts of their projects.

The NURBS++ package includes a matrix library, an image manipulation library, a numerical library and a NURBS library. They can all be used on their own but they are all developped to support my NURBS needs.

Philippe Lavoie is the person to contact for any problems with the library, for any suggestions, for any feature requests and for congratulations.

This library is now used in the Mind's Eyes project to create a free 3D modeller for UNIX machines. If you know other projects which use the library please let me know. It helps justify the effort I put into it.

The library is under the GNU Library Public Licence term. This means it's free. You can copy it, modify it and even enjoy it. You do have to add my name as the author of the work, after all this is still copyrighted material.

I have setup a nurbslib mailing list (nurbslib@zeus.genie.uottawa.ca) for the NURBS library. To subscribe to this list send an e-mail to Majordomo@zeus.genie.uottawa.ca with the body:

subscribe nurbslib you@domain

An e-mail message should be sent to you to ask you to confirm your subscription. The messages sent to the list are archived in a chronological order or by threads.

I'm also available for some contractual work. Suppose that for some reason you feel that free isn't a good deal. You can pay me for the library. The advantages of paying are you make me happy and you can even request features which will be added to the library within a very short delay.
