README UNIX
============

Unix version contributed by Johannes Winkelmann, jw@tks6.net

0. Platforms
============
The urarlib has been tested on Linux >= 2.2.14, gcc >= 2.91.66
and Sun/Solaris on Sparcs.
Tested on Redhat 6.2, Redhat 7.1, debian potato 2.2r3, crux 0.9.3
(maintained on crux, using gcc version 2.95.3 20010315)

1. Samples
------------

The two examples in the samples/unix irectory show how unrarlib.c and
unrarlib.h can be used in your project.

Please note that the symlink trick is only done to avoid having
unrarlib.c and unrarlib.h copied into every directory (and relative
pathes in Makefiles are not too portable). For your project, just copy
unrarlib.c and unrarlib.h to the project's directory and add them to the
Makefile.

If you have problems compiling, please deactivate _USE_ASM in unrarlib.h
first. The assemly implementation is unfortunately very much bound
to the gcc version used.

Make sure you #define NON_INTEL_BYTE_ORDER on Motorola machines (e.g.
Sun Sparc)

WARNING: The linux assembly port is rather experimental. If you run into
trouble, feel free to contact me (jw@tks6.net)
